Jasper Learning Initiative - June 2020 Updates
What is staying the same?
Some things have changed, but many things have stayed the same…
1. The district’s support for Jasper
2. The philosophy of the program has not changed - it will still be project-based, community-inspired, and inquiry-driven. Jasper’s Advisory will still be an important part of the program.
3. Same courses, same teachers, same leaders
4. Same 4-year plan/vision

What is changing?
1. The rest of EHS will also have block scheduling and an advisory
2. All high school students will take half of their classes in the fall semester and the other half in the spring semester (this is a plan for 2020-21 only because of Covid-19 planning).
2. All high school students will take half of their classes in the fall semester and the other half in the spring semester (this is a plan for 2020-21 only because of Covid-19 planning).
- This means you’ll have 2 Jasper classes in the fall (9th Grade English, American Studies 1) and 2 Jasper classes in the spring (GSI, Design & Development).
- We hope to schedule Jasper courses Blocks 3 & 4, or Blocks 2 & 3
- Students will have one Advisor for the fall and another Advisor for the spring. We will then try to match students with those same advisors for the next 3 years.
